 hola, me llamo SAM! of course, since there's another sam on the site feel free to call me any variant of any nickname you can think of. my friends love to nickname me; i get called sammy, samster, sammich, sammy sammich, sameny-snicket, sammy wammy, sambooka, sissy (not in the "YOU'RE A SISSY" way, but more as a term of endearment by my aunt and cousin!), swaggsurfer carter, lil refrigerator, clevinger, and heffalump are all names i am/have been called. so... i'm pretty lenient. oh, and i have the boss-est last name EVER, guys. get ready. get ready. ROWLING. omg, yeah, like the author! and i'm very british on my paternal side of the family, and i have an aunt linda who bears a striking resemblance to mrs. jk rowling herself, soooo... :D anyway, i live in chicago and for baseball. i don't actually play, but i can't help but become engulfed in the world of baseball every time a new season rolls around. i'm a die-hard cubby fan which doesn't bode well with my friends and family (my friends are predominantly sox fans and my dad is a CARDINALS fan!) but... i suppose i was just born this way. i watch a baseball game every day, and on off-days i watch baseball movies. I LOVE KEVIN COSTNER. to sum it up, "i believe in the church of baseball". :) so another passion of mine is music. i am obsessed with the who. they are my all-time favorite band; i own NEARLY every album by them and a majority of their albums i own on vinyl. oh yes, vinyl. i have 53 vinyl records so far! my favorite has to be quadrophenia, because it's the most brilliant rock composing i've ever heard in my life and i find myself relating more and more to the storyline every day. in addition to listening to music, i play drums. i wish i played in band or orchestra since i'd love to learn to play the tympany, but i just play a regular drumset. i've been playing a year; i still think i suck eggs at it. hmmm... what else? i adore books. i'm big on classics. ernest hemingway is my favorite author, though my favorite book is catch-22 by joseph heller. i also like william faulkner, william s. burroughs, and jack keruoac. right now i'm reading a separate peace and i love it (the name, by the way, is from a hemingway quote!). i read for about an hour every day, if not more. it's wonderful. i'm a big zombie fan as well. one of my favorite movies is shaun of the dead, though i've seen countless zombie films! i've also read world war z and the zombie survival guide... and i have accompanying flashcards for the survival guide. i've read every article on cracked.com relating to zombies, one of my favorite songs is zombie love by the monochrome set, i write spontaneous essays on different aspects of the zombie apocalypse - CAN YOU SAY NERD? jeez. haha. one last thing i'm really into is the military. i'm certainly not a big war monger or anything (i'm actually pretty damn liberal, haha), but i'm fascinated by the armed services. i cannot put into words how much i love the M*A*S*H franchise. for a while, i wanted to be an army doctor because of the show, but i've changed my mind about that... i wanna be an air force pilot! planes are badass, maaaayn. :) i'm planning to go to a nearby college with this wonderful aviation program. and if somehow this falls through (i'm worried about my vision problems, waaah) i am definitely trying for the chicago police force. i'm from a looooong line of cops! anyway, now you know entirely too much about me. if you want to stalk me on facebook, go straight ahead. i add random people on omegle all the time, so it's all good (i'm probably a little reckless with this, but whatever. i live with two cops, i'm alright). other things... oh! my AIM is tendollabillyall, my tumblr is sleeponthebeach.tumblr.com, and my last.fm is sleeponthebeach. it'd make me happy if you totally creeped on my tumblr & last.fm. anywhoooo...
