yo! the name's DREW and i happen to be SIXTEEN
Erika couldn’t believe it her parents just gave her the worst news possible. She would be attending a boarding school up north. North, where city folk live. It’s not like she’s never been to the city but living there that’s just crazy. New York, some call it the fashion capital of the US, she knows it as the capital of crime. Do you know how many people die of crime related things in New York? Well me neither. I just know it’s a lot. It’s nothing like her home in Atlanta were she lived in a section were the rich and famous lived. Not just the rich and those lucky people with school scholarships. Lucky me right?
Erika’s never been to a real school let alone live in one. She had no ideal what to expect nor anticipate. And it wasn’t like her parents gave her a couple days to pick up all her stuff and life and just move up North. No, they told her the day before. They didn’t think she need anymore time. “You know when I first started being an actor, the producers only gave you have the time we’re giving you.” Her father said. So what? Wasn’t that back in the 60’s.
Her mother had told her that they weren’t doing this to punish her, they actually wanted to help. Help, how. Erika saw this as ruining her life. Her mother stated, “You’re a young girl, you need to stop worrying about your career. It’ll still be there when you finish high school.” Well at least that’s what she thought she said. Halfway her little speech Erika was up in her room, trying to figure out what to do.
There was no way, Erika was just going to go along with this. I’ll just leave, take a vacation in Miami or something. Yup, that’s what I’ll do.Walking into her closet she was shocked to see that nothing was on the hangers, but a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Her mother had took it upon herself to pack everything early, it was already there at Lancaster, with the rest of her stuff.
Giving up, well just accepting her defeat, she headed down stairs to the dinning room. “So what is this school like?” she asked her mother. “Ohh, it’s wonderful darling. You even get to share a room with these other girls.?” she replied Sharing. Erika has never had to share anything in her entire life. What was here mother thinking?
